Pilar’s Nutrition Journey

I’m a registered Nutritional Therapist in the UK and a Certified Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine in the US. I’ve also completed Dr. Kara Fitzgerald’s Younger You longevity training to deepen my understanding of the science of ageing and vibrant health.

But my path into this work wasn’t a straight line. I originally studied economics, qualified as an accountant and built a career in London’s hedge fund world. The long hours, constant travel and chronic stress eventually caught up with me, and after way too many miscarriages I began searching for a more holistic way to support my fertility. That journey changed everything. I retrained in Nutrition and fertility, rebuilt my own wellbeing, had three beautiful children—now teenagers—and have since had the privilege of helping many families welcome beautiful babies into their lives.

And longevity? Absolutely. After supporting clients through fertility for years, I saw their needs evolve—as did mine. Moving into our 40s, 50s, and beyond brings new challenges and those, often overwhelming, hormonal shifts especially for women navigating peri- and menopause.

Supporting this stage of life has become a natural and meaningful extension of my practice. My work today blends science, understanding and empathy and lived experience to help you feel well—now and for the many years ahead.

Pilar’s Functional Nutrition Practice

I am a nutritionist, first and foremost.

But I also know that nutrition never exists in isolation. Sleep, stress, movement, emotions, relationships, and your environment all interact with your biology in powerful ways. This is where the functional approach becomes essential: in my practice, you are seen as a whole person, not a collection of symptoms.

I take the time to truly understand your physiology, your health concerns, and the way you live your life. I assess and, when needed, test key body systems—digestion, immunity, inflammation, hormonal balance, metabolic health—as well as environmental and emotional factors that may be impacting your wellbeing.

My purpose is to identify the root causes of what you’re experiencing so we can address them through personalised nutrition and meaningful lifestyle changes. Whether you are navigating specific health challenges or simply want to build the strongest possible foundations for the years ahead, we tailor your plan to support both your current wellbeing and your future healthspan.

All recommendations are science-based and personalised, because I dig as deeply as needed to get the right answers.

My sessions are designed to be warm, supportive, and empathetic—a space where we work together to move toward your health goals with confidence and at your own pace.

I offer One-on-One Consultations globally via Zoom, and my Programme runs regularly, also delivered through video for flexibility and ease.

My love of food

I know—it’s no surprise that I love food … I’m a nutritionist after all!

But for me, it goes far beyond that. Food is powerful. It nourishes, it heals, it connects us to ourselves and to the people we love. It’s one of the most accessible tools we have to support our wellbeing, and I’m endlessly inspired by how transformative it can in even the most complex of cases.

I naturally gravitate toward vegetables and fish—probably because I’m Mediterranean —and I have a deep appreciation for ancient, traditional foods. I love going back to our nourishment roots: fermented foods like kimchi and sauerkraut, kombucha and kefir, sourdough, homemade broths, … all the beautiful, time-honoured ways of supporting gut health and vitality while making your kitchen smell amazing!

I love seeing my passion for delicious, nourishing and wholesome food rub off on my clients. When they begin to enjoy the process of nourishing themselves, really enjoy it, I know the changes we’re making have become part of their life, not just their programme. And that’s where the real, lasting transformation happens.
